News: GMDA Chief Orders Blacklisting of Two Contractors-05-06-2026
Two contractors face blacklisting after Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) CEO PC Meena found negligence in their works at Basai and Sector 17 during a field visit on Thursday, officials aware of the matter said.
Meena was reviewing monsoon preparedness and drainage works. At Basai Chowk, debris had piled up at a drain built by the authority below a flyover. He ordered the site cleaned immediately and the contractor barred from future projects. In Sector 17, he took serious note of delay in drain construction in front of the Air Force Station, directed that blacklisting proceedings be started and told officials to engage another agency to finish the work within 20 days.
At Hero Honda Chowk, he ordered drains cleaned and debris removed from green belts. An additional drain along the railway line is to be completed by June 20 to ease waterlogging in sectors 4, 7, 9 and Laxman Vihar, and extra pumps will be installed at the master pumping station (MPS).
Meena also inspected Basai Pond with Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) officials and directed that treated water be supplied to revive it.
