News: MCG Website Takes Waterlogging Complaints With Photos-02-06-2026
Gurugram residents can now report flooding in their neighbourhoods through a new feature on the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) website, mcg.gov.in, officials said.
The feature shows waterlogging-prone areas and lets users indicate the approximate depth of water using visual references such as an auto-rickshaw, car, person and bike. A photograph of the waterlogged spot is mandatory with each complaint, and images from previous years can also be uploaded to help identify recurring trouble spots.
Additional commissioner Yash Jaluka said the corporation knows the critical hotspots but still needs to study flood depth, which the feature will help with. It was developed with IIT Gandhinagar under the pilot phase of the "Rain-to-Resilience" initiative. Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya said the aim goes beyond registering complaints to building an effective flood prevention mechanism driven by residents and RWAs.
Officials said MCG will monitor waterlogging through around 700 CCTV cameras and is mapping resources ward-wise. Citywide, 269 sewer workers, 84 suction tankers and 89 tractor-mounted pumps have been deployed, among other resources.
