News: Trial Runs Begin on 18-km Water Main to Sector 72-30-05-2026

Testing has begun on a roughly 18-km master water pipeline from the Chandu Budhera water treatment plant to the new Sector-72 boosting station, which is meant to improve supply to sectors along Golf Course Road and Golf Course Extension Road, Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) officials said.

Trials started last week and about 10km, up to Dwarka Expressway, has been inspected. Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikran (HSVP) laid the line in 2012, but changes in the expressway’s alignment and missing links kept it unused until the gaps were closed over the past year.

Executive engineer Abhinav Verma said testing up to Elan Mall in Sector-84 is complete and two leaks near Sector-88 were plugged. The line under CPR, NH 48 and beyond will be tested next.

Verma said trials would finish by the end of June and the pipeline would be operational next month, improving supply in sector 58 to sector 80. Officials said it will also ease pressure on the Sector-51 boosting station.
