News: Airbnb Leases 46,437 Sq Ft at DLF Cybercity Gurugram-30-05-2026
Airbnb has leased 46,437 sq ft of office space at DLF Cybercity in Gurugram for its Global Capability Centre (GCC), paying a monthly rent of Rs 61.53 lakh under a five-year agreement, according to documents accessed by Propstack.
The space is in Building No. 5 (Tower A), owned by DLF Cyber City Developers Limited. The lease began on October 1, 2025, at Rs 132.5 per sq ft per month, with a security deposit of Rs 5.54 crore and a 5% escalation clause. Airbnb will also pay Rs 2.85 lakh a month for 38 car parking spaces at Rs 7,500 per slot, and any additional slots will cost Rs 8,500 a month each.
GCCs are offshore or remote centres that companies use for technology, operations, analytics, finance and support functions.
Raja Seetharaman, co-founder of Propstack, said the deal reflects the momentum in India’s commercial real estate market, with GCCs moving beyond back offices to become the main driver of premium institutional leasing. Long-term leases at over Rs 130 per sq ft, he said, show that appetite for top-tier grade-A space remains robust.
An email has been sent to both DLF and Airbnb.
Airbnb, which connects property owners with travellers for short-term stays, has added services such as in-app car rentals, grocery deliveries, airport pickups and luggage storage. CEO and co-founder Brian Chesky told PTI in an interview earlier this month that the company would play the "long game" in India, a fast-growing market driven by a rising middle class and travel-hungry Gen Z. He said it is among the markets he expects to grow fastest and could one day be one of Airbnb’s biggest. India already houses the company’s largest corporate office outside the US, he noted.
GCCs and flex operators were the biggest sources of office demand in the first quarter of 2026, with shares of 45.5% and 25.9% respectively, a report noted. Bengaluru accounted for 24.8% of Q1 leasing volumes, Mumbai 19.5%, Hyderabad 16.8%, Pune 14.5% and Delhi NCR 14.2%.
