News: GMDA Razes 15 Illegal Shops in Gurugram Sector 90-28-05-2026
Unauthorised structures on green belts and service roads along sector-dividing roads 50-57, 51-57 and 90-91 were removed in an anti-encroachment drive by the enforcement wing of the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) to clear the right of way (ROW), officials said.
Around 15 illegal shops on the multi-utility corridor in Sector 90 were demolished. Elsewhere, illegal vends, gates, ramps, carts and kiosks were removed.
Officials said nearly 1.5 kilometres on one side of Sector Road 51-57 and about 600 metres on one side of Sector Road 50-57 were cleared. On the Sector 90-91 stretch, shanties, carts and extensions by shops and restaurants were partially cleared over around 1.5 kilometres, and another round of action is scheduled before June 7.
The drive was led by RS Bhath, nodal officer for encroachment in Gurugram and DTP GMDA. Private entities were given five days to remove tiles laid on green belts for parking.
RS Bhatt said no unauthorised structure on GMDA land or ROW will be tolerated.
