News: 25 Electricity Poles Stall Dwarka Expressway Service Lane-24-05-2026
Work on the Dwarka Expressway service lane is stuck because at least 25 electricity poles stand in the way, Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) officials said.
Nearly 70% of the 26-kilometer project, on both sides of the Central Peripheral Road (CPR) corridor, is complete. GMDA executive engineer Abhinav Verma said the authority paid Rs 54 lakh to DHBVN in 2025 to shift the poles, and the remaining work has stalled as they are yet to be relocated.
The deadline was September 2026, but the agency has been asked to finish before the monsoon, since rain could cause further delay. Work will resume in the affected portions once the poles are moved.
DHBVN executive engineer Manoj Kumar said poles are being removed from time to time as per GMDA’s payments and the department would get in touch with GMDA.
