News: Sector 40 Residents Await Promised Water Boosting Station-21-05-2026
Residents of Sector 40 say a water boosting station planned for their area has not been built because the earmarked land remains encroached, despite directions at the chief minister’s grievance redressal meeting in April 2025.
At that meeting, Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) land was ordered to be used for the station. Residents claim it is still being used as quarters by HSVP staff.
RWA president Abhimanyu Singh said residents met chief minister Nayab Singh Saini last year and HSVP was ordered to clear the land, which has not happened. RWA joint secretary Virender Singh said the station was due by 2025 and officials keep saying the quarters will be demolished soon. The sector depends on supply from sector 39 and faces periodic disruptions.
Ward Councillor Pawan Kumar said several letters had gone to HSVP over more than a year without action.
HSVP junior engineer Rampal Kundu said only one quarter remains occupied. It will be vacated once the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG), which will build the station, begins work, he said. Jaiveer Yadav, joint commissioner of zone 3, said MCG is coordinating with HSVP and construction will begin soon.
