News: 25 Illegal Eateries Demolished on Nuh Expressway After Crash-16-05-2026
Nuh police and the district administration on Saturday pulled down at least 25 restaurants and hotels running illegally along the Delhi-Mumbai expressway, officials said. The action follows a crash that killed five people, four of them Uttar Pradesh police personnel.
The direction came after Nuh police superintendent Arpit Jain investigated the May 5 crash near Dhaulawat toll plaza on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal expressway. A Mahindra Scorpio carrying four UP policemen and their civilian driver crashed while returning to Jalaun after a raid in a kidnapping case. Police said an illegal eatery had caused vehicles to stop on the high-speed corridor.
Nuh police public relations officer Krishan Kumar said drives were carried out in Nuh Sadar, Rojka Meo, Pinangwan, Nagina and Firrozpur Jhirka, starting on Thursday and intensifying on Saturday. Vehicle and puncture repair shops were also removed.
He said periodic drives have been ordered on the KMP expressway. Patrol teams have been told to report illegal establishments, and NHAI has been asked to have its toll contractors do the same.
