News: Traffic Police Plan to Ease Gwal Pahari T-Point Congestion-12-05-2026
A decongestion plan for a three-way junction near Gwal Pahari on the Gurugram-Faridabad Road is being worked out by the district traffic police, officials said.
Still under discussion, it is likely to include signage, synchronised signals, speed-calming measures and steps to reduce the load up to another T-point towards Ghata. Lane segregation with barricades for vehicles from Delhi is being considered.
A senior official, requesting anonymity, said an existing 3.5-metre free left lane would be used to prevent haphazard merging. Internal roads would be identified, particularly for the nearly 23 percent of surveyed daily traffic heading to neighbouring Haryana districts.
Officials said signal jumping and missing markings often lead to accidents. Encroachments and roadside parking that narrow the carriageway were identified.
In April, DCP (Traffic) Prateek Gehlot inspected the junction after complaints of frequent jams, and police deployment and action against illegal parking were stepped up.
