News: Service Road, Cycle Track Planned Between Sectors 102, 102A-11-05-2026
The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) plans to build a service road and cycle track along the master sector road separating Sector 102 from Sector 102A. Officials said a detailed project report (DPR) is ready and tenders will be floated once the competent authority approves it.
The nearly two-kilometre road links the area to the Dwarka Expressway. Officials said vehicle and pedestrian movement has grown since four to five large condominiums along it were occupied. Residents put the number of families now living there at around 3,000.
Acting on residents’ requests, GMDA had asked a consultant to study feasibility and prepare the DPR.
Executive engineer Shekhar Nandal said the project is estimated to cost approximately Rs 20 crore and the proposal will be placed before the chief executive officer for review. Footpaths and slip roads between the main carriageway and the service road are also part of the plan.
Sunil Sareen, a Sector 102 resident, said the road connects the Dwarka Expressway with the Upper Dwarka Expressway and traffic has risen significantly. A cycle track, he said, would make the stretch safer for cyclists.
