News: GMDA Floats Tender for 900-Metre Ambedkar Chowk Flyover-08-05-2026
The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) on Friday floated a tender for a flyover at Ambedkar Chowk, the junction of sectors 45, 46, 51 and 52 and one of the city’s busiest intersections.
Officials said the chowk links traffic between Ardee City, Sohna Road and nearby residential sectors. They said the underpass will be built at a cost of Rs 32 crore and must be completed within two years of the work being allotted.
The project comprises a 900-metre, four-lane flyover from Ardee City towards Sohna Road, with four-lane service roads alongside for residents and commercial establishments. Surface drains and footpaths will be built, and crash barriers, signage and road markings installed.
RK Yadav, RWA president of a Sector 46 society, said commuters wait at least 10 to 15 minutes to cross the chowk in peak hours and the flyover is needed at the earliest.
GMDA CEO PC Meena said the flyover would improve connectivity and smoothen traffic in a city seeing rapid urban growth.
