News: Golf Course Extension Road Gets Extra Lanes-01-05-2026
The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) will add lanes on both sides of the Golf Course extension road between Ghata and Vatika Chowk to cut congestion and dust pollution, officials said on Friday.
The tender for the 6 km stretch has been allotted. The work will cost Rs 6.5 crore and take six months.
Officials said the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) built the road 10 years ago with three lanes on each side instead of the planned four because traffic was low. It later passed to GMDA with one lane on each side still unpaved.
Executive engineer Amit Godara said the road would be widened, repaired and blacktopped to give four lanes on each side, with potholes fixed. A permanent bitumen surface was chosen over tiles because of heavy traffic.
GMDA has also allotted a Rs 5 crore tender to upgrade the service road along the Artemis hospital road, including surface drains and lower green belts.
