News: Bristol Chowk Gets Trial Traffic Plan in Gurugram-01-05-2026
A trial plan to ease congestion at Bristol Chowk will be rolled out by the district traffic police from next week, officials said on Friday. It targets weaving traffic, wrong-side driving and accidents between Sikanderpur Metro Station and DLF Phase 1.
Prepared by the traffic engineering centre (TEC) for the five-arm junction linking the Mehrauli-Gurugram (MG) and Golf Course roads, it proposes a direct entry link between Sikanderpur village and the Faridabad-Gurugram road, and moving an existing signal back, parallel to the service lane. The entry point is meant to regulate about 600 vehicles from Sikanderpur.
DCP (traffic) Prateek Gehlot, who inspected the spot on Thursday, said signal synchronisation and barricades are planned, and that the plan followed consultations with stakeholders, including villagers. Enforcement drives will continue.
Temporary encroachments will be removed, unregulated openings barricaded, and a one-way U-turn opened for Sikanderpur commuters heading towards MG road.
