News: MCG Floats Rs 606.66 Crore Door-to-Door Waste Tenders-24-04-2026
Two tenders for door-to-door collection, segregation and transportation of municipal solid waste were floated by the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) on Thursday.
The city has been split into two clusters. Cluster-I is pegged at Rs 295.60 crore and covers over 383,000 establishments. Cluster-II is estimated at Rs 311.06 crore and covers around 335,000 units, including houses, apartments, shops, offices, street vendors and bulk waste generators. The total is Rs 606.66 crore, officials said. Contracts will run for five years, extendable by up to four years on performance.
Ravindra Yadav, additional commissioner, MCG, said the aim is a structured, technology-driven system. Contractors must deploy adequate manpower, vehicles and equipment, draw up route plans and set up a complaint redressal centre. The project provides for IT-enabled tracking, detailed records and regular reporting of collection data.
At least 50% of manpower and machinery must be deployed within 30 days of signing and all of it within 60 days, failing which penalties or termination may follow. Bidders must furnish earnest money of 2% of the estimated cost for general bidders and performance security of 10% of annual contract value. Haryana-based micro enterprises and cooperative societies get concessions under state procurement norms.
The tenders come amid concern over repeated landfill fires at Bandhwari, unsegregated waste and gaps in collection.
