News: Kadarpur Slum on Rs 25 Crore GMDA Land Razed in Gurugram-21-04-2026
Police and civic agencies on Monday demolished illegal construction on about half an acre of government land in Kadarpur village, Sector 63, worth at least Rs 25 crore, officials said.
Police said the plot belongs to the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority and had been occupied for several years by a criminal from the village, now out on bail. He had allegedly built around 50 temporary and permanent dwellings and collected up to Rs 5 lakh a month in rent.
Sandeep Turan, public relations officer of Gurugram police, said the suspect is accused in more than 18 cases, including kidnapping, extortion, assault and snatching. The encroachment surfaced during a crime branch crackdown on gangsters’ financial networks.
A joint team of GMDA and the district town planner’s enforcement wing carried out the demolition. Officials said at least five major land parcels of the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram and GMDA were freed in the past week.
