News: GMDA CCTV Phase II: External Auditor for 2,758 Cameras-19-04-2026
The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is hiring an external audit consultant for phase II of its CCTV programme, under which 2,758 cameras are being installed at 258 locations, officials said on Saturday.
A tender floated on Thursday seeks technical performance analysis of six types of newly installed cameras at major intersections, accident-prone areas and city entry and exit points. The scope includes integrating phase I with phase II by April 2027. Bids are open until April 27.
Officials said 3,922 cameras at 476 locations will be linked through a 730km optical fibre cable (OFC) network and monitored from the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) by December 2026. The consultant will run performance checks, flag bottlenecks and prepare progress reports while installation continues.
About 30% of fibre-laying is complete. Farrukh Nagar, Sohna, Pataudi, Dhankot, Chandu Bhudhera and Hailey Mandi will also be covered.
Phase I installed 1,200 cameras at 218 junctions on a 400km OFC network. High-resolution (4K) cameras are planned at Pataudi Chowk, Bilaspur Chowk, Basai Road and the Sohna elevated road.
