News: 1,290 Gurugram Road Complaints Pending on Mhari Sadak App-17-04-2026
More than 1,290 complaints from Gurugram were pending as of April 16 on Mhari Sadak, Haryana’s grievance app for road issues, at odds with the state government’s push for a "pothole-free" city before the monsoon.
In all, 2,391 complaints have been lodged to date, of which 948 are classed as "major" and 328 as "minor". The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has closed 1,089, and at least 407 are marked "overdue".
MCG officials told HT that technical glitches persist despite updates. Chief engineer Vijay Dhaka said residents also use the app to report garbage on roads or footpaths, which it is not meant for, inflating the count. He acknowledged overdue complaints but said the real number is lower than shown. Officials said the app displays complaints lodged over the past three months.
Because of the glitches, officials said, 100% data has also been shared with Haryana’s geographic information system (GIS) platform, which Dhaka said has infrastructure mapping of roads and drainage. He added that once a complaint is resolved, a photograph is uploaded as proof, matched to the exact location.
The app, launched by the Haryana government in October 2025, lets citizens report potholes, damaged stretches and waterlogging.
For Manesar, the app shows 181 complaints, with 121 closed and 60 "in process" or pending. Of the total, 42 are "major", 17 "minor" and 23 overdue. Mandeep Dhankhar, executive engineer at the Municipal Corporation of Manesar (MCM), said complaints are being resolved on priority.
Savita Devi, a resident of Sector 46, said complaints keep getting transferred between agencies with no accountability, and residents are losing hope.
