News: Four-Lane Rail Overbridge Planned on Garhi Road, Sector 37D-16-04-2026
The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) will build a four-lane flyover on Garhi road across the Delhi-Rewari railway track, near Dwarka Expressway in Sector 37 D, officials said.
The rail over bridge (ROB) is expected to help over 10,000 families in Sectors 37C and 37D and residents across the expressway. At present, they and people from Basai village must wait whenever the crossing is closed for trains.
A senior GMDA official said the project was first planned as two lanes. GMDA CEO PC Meena took it up with railway authorities, who approved four lanes and agreed to bear half the cost. The estimate of around Rs 55 crore is now likely to rise to around Rs 100 crore.
Abhinav Verma, executive engineer, GMDA, said the consultant has been asked for a revised DPR, including approach roads. The flyover stretch will be built under railway supervision.
