News: Sewage Floods Rajendra Park Sector 105 Lanes Again-12-04-2026
Sewage overflow has returned to Rajendra Park in Sector 105 after a brief improvement, with residents saying lanes are flooded and repeated complaints have changed little.
Block C is among the worst affected, with streets inundated almost daily. Resident Rajesh Gulia said people have lost patience, as a foul stench enters homes and everyone, including schoolchildren, must wade through sewage. Nowhere does it appear that the authorities are doing anything, he said.
Another resident, Tulsi Sharma, said some people are considering selling their houses and leaving. He feared a repeat of last year’s situation during the rains and called it a health hazard caused by the authorities.
The locality, home to at least 30,000 people, lies along Bajghera Road, which links the Dwarka Expressway and Daultabad flyover. The worst-hit stretches include the lane from Block C’s Shiv Murti Chowk to Dwarka Expressway and parts of Blocks F and G.
On March 29, it was reported that the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) had begun a Rs 12-15 crore project in Ward 34, which includes Rajendra Park, covering desilting, pipeline replacement and sewer strengthening, with completion targeted by April-end.
Vivek Beniwal, sub-divisional officer (SDO) at MCG, said officials were unaware of the current situation and would get it inspected. Ward councillor Surekha Chauhan did not respond to HT’s calls and messages.
