News: Sheetla Mata Road Gets Rs 21-Crore Upgrade in Gurugram-07-04-2026
A 3.5 km stretch of Sheetla Mata Road, from Atul Kataria Chowk to the Sector 3/5 roundabout (Bhagat Singh Chowk), is to be revamped at a cost of Rs 21 crore, Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority officials said.
The work covers road repairs, rebuilt footpaths, streetscaping and new drainage. The proposal is being finalised, tenders are likely within a month and completion is expected within one year of allotment.
Executive engineer Amit Godara said the road is congested daily and worse on festive days when visitors throng the Sheetla Mata temple. Footpaths will be rebuilt, streetlights and green spaces added and entry and exit points on the main carriageway designated. Drains on both sides will be reconstructed because of waterlogging, and a foot overbridge planned near the temple will be integrated into the design.
Separately, a 900-metre stretch from Bhagat Singh Chowk to Old Railway Road will be revamped for Rs 4.9 crore.
