News: Cyber Park, Dada Bhaiya Junctions to Be Redesigned-01-04-2026
Two intersections along the Gurugram metro alignment are to be upgraded by the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA): the Cyber Park intersection on Netaji Subhash Marg and the Dada Bhaiya junction on the Sector-9/9A and Basai Road.
Netaji Subhash Marg is the main arterial road between Millennium City Centre metro station and Subash Chowk, and commuters complain of heavy congestion, especially since it was barricaded for metro work. GMDA chief executive officer PC Meena has ordered measures to improve traffic on main roads and intersections, particularly along the metro alignment and near major companies or IT hubs. Entry and exit points are to be optimised, and slip roads, footpaths and service roads built where missing.
A senior GMDA official said the Sector 39 intersection was chosen because it is heavily congested and large commercial buildings such as Cyber Park draw high footfall. A ground survey found that the junction’s entry and exit gates open directly onto the main road, which disrupts traffic on the main carriageway.
The access points will be redesigned so that vehicles move from the service road to the main carriageway smoothly. A slip road will be built from the Jharsa village road towards Millennium City centre, and nearby footpaths will be rebuilt. The estimate is approximately Rs 1.5 crore, and executive engineer Amit Godara said tenders will be issued in April.
At the sectors 9/9A and Basai Road intersection, one slip road will connect the Dwarka Expressway to sectors 9/9A and another will serve traffic from sectors 9/9A towards Umang Bhardwaj Chowk. A consultancy firm is being engaged for a design to identify further measures. It is expected to be ready in 10 to 15 days, and work will begin once the GMDA CEO approves the plan.
