News: Underground Shankar Chowk RRTS Station Gets Haryana Nod-27-03-2026
The Haryana government on Friday approved the location and design of the proposed RRTS station at Shankar Chowk on the Delhi SNB Namo Bharat corridor, officials said.
The design, proposed by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), was cleared at a meeting of the high powered committee on Gurugram metro in Chandigarh, chaired by chief secretary Anurag Rastogi.
The station will be underground, with three entry and exit gates: towards Rao Gajraj Singh Marg, towards Cyber City and on HIL land near the Ambience Mall U-turn. Parking will be provided on the HIL land and in Cyber City. The Cyber City station of the old Gurugram Metro will sit next to it and connect directly with the concourse.
The chief secretary also directed Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (HVPNL) to give GMRL 1,330 square meters of land for a metro depot in Sector 33, and asked GMDA to shift utilities on the 2.5 km stretch between Hero Honda Chowk and Umang Bhardwaj Chowk on priority.
GMRL managing director Chander Shekhar Khare said GMRL has received Rs 17 crore for shifting high tension power lines near Millennium City metro station.
