News: In-Principle Nod for Bakhtawar Chowk, Double-Decker Flyover-05-03-2026

Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) said on Tuesday that it has obtained in-principle approval for a flyover at Bakhtawar Chowk and a double-decker flyover on the Hero Honda Chowk to Umang Bhardwaj Chowk stretch, after a meeting with the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA).

An official said the Bakhtawar Chowk alignment will let the road and metro share pillars, cutting cost and saving carriageway space. For the Hero Honda Chowk stretch, GMRL will submit a proposal to GMDA, which will seek state government permission.

GMDA had earlier planned an underpass at Bakhtawar Chowk, but GMRL said it would reduce the 60-metre road width. A similar plan for the Ghata to Vatika Chowk stretch has gone to Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation Limited.
