News: Haryana Budget: Gurugram Elevated Road and Five Flyovers-03-03-2026
Easing traffic was the thread running through the Gurugram package that Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini unveiled in Monday’s state budget: an elevated corridor of 14 km, five flyovers and a revival of the Greater Southern Peripheral Road.
The elevated road, estimated at around Rs 2,900 crore, splits into the 5.1km eight-lane Vatika Chowk-NH48 leg at about Rs 1,065 crore and the 8.84km eight-lane Vatika Chowk-Ghata leg at Rs 1,846 crore, officials said. GMDA has already prepared the DPR; tendering follows budget approval and the job should take roughly two and a half years from allocation, benefiting Sector 45 to Sector 115.
Saini said the decade-old Greater Southern Peripheral Road has been revived. Some 671 acres in 14 villages are notified and the award is due shortly. The roughly 21 km stretch from Sector 58 to Manesar, running via MG Road, the Gurugram-Sohna Highway and the SPR to IMT Manesar, will serve as New Gurugram’s outer ring road, he said, relieving the Delhi-Jaipur Highway, the Gurugram-Sohna Highway and the SPR while improving flow to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.
About Rs 302 crore will fund flyovers at Ambedkar Chowk, Dadi Sati Chowk, Z Chowk Millennium City Centre Metro Station, Bakhtawar Chowk and Garhi Harsaru Railway Crossing. GMDA officials said tenders for Dadi Sati and Ambedkar Chowk go out within 15 days, while Gurugram Metro Rail Limited builds the Bakhtawar Chowk one. Garhi Harsaru, with railway department approval and a DPR in preparation, will link Sectors 37C and D to the Dwarka Expressway, serving around 10,000 families.
Also announced: Rs 77 crore for 11 km of model roads including MG Road and Netaji Subhash Chandra Marg, and a six-lane Harsaru village-Jhajjar road via Wazirpur.
