News: Gurugram Water and Sewer Connections Now Fully Online-26-02-2026
The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has introduced an online system for drinking water and sewerage connections, which it says makes it the first civic body in Haryana to do so. The module is live on its website.
Applicants need only a property ID and valid identity proof and no longer have to visit municipal offices or file lengthy paperwork. Officials said the system was piloted, tested and audited, and that around 150,000-200,000 existing connections must be linked to it.
Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya called it a major reform in service delivery, saying citizens can track applications online, making the process time-bound and accountable. The priority is to move as many civic services online as possible.
To ease the transition, the deadline for water bill payment has been extended to March 8 so residents can link existing connections. Application fees, connection charges and payment methods will be announced within 10 days.
Mayor Raj Rani Malhotra said the system will improve efficiency, cut delays and help build a centralised database for future smart city projects.
