News: Rs 31 Crore Tender for 10 km Master Sewer in Sectors 77-80-25-02-2026
The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) on Tuesday floated a tender to lay about 10 km of master sewer lines in sectors 77 to 80. A spokesperson put the estimated cost at Rs 31.20 crore and said the lines will add capacity for a growing population. Work is to finish a year after award.
Residents said the absence of master and connecting lines forces societies to cart away treated water in tractor trolleys and tankers. Pravin Malik, president of Rising Homes society in Sector 92, said thousands in developing sectors are affected, costs are high and wastewater is polluting the area.
GMDA is also laying master sewers from sectors 68 to 76 and 105 to 115, which officials said will improve flow and reduce overflows.
The sewage treatment plants at Behrampur and Dhanwapur are each being expanded by 100 MLD, with tendering under way, to handle wastewater from New Gurugram. A new 100 MLD plant in Sector 107 and a 40 MLD plant at Naurangpur are also planned.
