News: GMDA to Desilt 6.5 km Drain Along CPR in Rs 5.3 Crore Tender-19-02-2026
The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) on Wednesday floated a Rs 5.3 crore tender to desilt a 6.5 km stormwater drain running from the cloverleaf near Kherki Daula along the CPR towards Ramprastha City and up to Sector 37D. Bids open on March 6 and the work must be done within three months of award.
GMDA is building stormwater drain number four along the SPR for about Rs 115 crore to carry water from the Badshahpur drain towards the CPR on the Dwarka Expressway. An official said desilting downstream of the cloverleaf will let water reach the Najafgarh drain and prevent flooding on Sohna Road and in sectors along the SPR and CPR.
Separately, GMDA will cancel the contract for a drain from Atul Kataria Chowk on Old Delhi Road to Iffco Colony on the Delhi-Jaipur Highway. Awarded on May 19 last year for about Rs 12.8 crore and due by May 2026, it is not even 10 per cent complete. A Rs 1.28 crore fine was imposed on the company.
