News: MCG Forms Road Development Cell to Track Gurugram Projects-18-02-2026
The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) on Tuesday set up a road development cell (RDC) to monitor road projects and ensure road-related grievances are settled within set timelines.
The municipal commissioner chairs the cell, with additional commissioner Ankita Choudhary as vice-chairperson and chief engineer Vijay Dhaka as member secretary. All executive and assistant engineers and consultant Dr Anita Phalswal are members.
Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya said the cell will periodically review model road projects and all road works costing Rs 25 lakh or more, checking timelines, quality and financial progress against approved specifications.
It will also be the central point for complaints arriving through the CHS/GMDA portal, the MCG mobile app and the Mhari Sadak platform, so residents need not follow up repeatedly. To prevent delays from overlapping responsibilities, it will coordinate with the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority, Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran, PWD (B&R), Traffic Police and utility departments.
The RDC will submit periodic status reports and consolidated reviews, implement Commission for Air Quality Management directions and monitor road-related environmental targets. It will meet fortnightly or as the chairperson directs, with field officers supplying timely data.
