News: DDA Flats Get Cheaper as Parking Cost Folded Into Project-18-02-2026
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) will no longer charge separately for parking in its housing schemes, officials said on February 18, a step expected to lower flat prices.
A recent order says the cost of building parking will be counted within the total expenditure on a housing pocket when calculating the Plinth Area Rate of flats. No separate or additional amount for car garages, scooter garages or covered or uncovered parking is to be included in a flat’s total cost.
The reduction should show immediately in ongoing schemes: Karmayogi Awas Yojana 2025 (FCFS), Towering Heights Karkardooma Housing Scheme 2025 (E-Auction), Nagrik Awas Yojana 2026 (FCFS) and Towering Heights Karkardooma Housing Scheme 2026 (FCFS). All future schemes will follow the same structure.
The Times of India reported that prices could fall by Rs 5 lakh to Rs 12 lakh, and that buyers who have already paid parking charges will be reimbursed or have the sum adjusted against future instalments.
