News: Six-Lane Elevated Road at Hero Honda Chowk Nears Nod-17-02-2026
The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is close to finalising a six-lane elevated road on the 3.2 km stretch between Hero Honda Chowk and Umang Bhardwaj Chowk. Since it will run alongside the coming metro line, where a station is also planned, GMDA has shared the design with Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) for comments and asked the highway authority whether more land is needed.
A senior GMDA official said advance planning will prevent the two projects from obstructing each other and avoid procedural or technical delays. After feedback, the proposal goes to the Haryana government.
Under the highway authority’s revised design, the road starts just ahead of the Hero Honda Chowk underpass and ends after crossing Umang Bhardwaj Chowk. It is estimated at Rs 182 crore, and Rs 100 crore has already been approved for shifting utilities, which GMRL pressed for last week.
The upgrade has been pending about five years. A 2021 plan proposed three lanes on each side; later versions included flyovers before the elevated road was chosen.
