News: MCG Sanctions Rs 2.85 Crore to Revamp Sushant Lok-1 Parks-15-02-2026
The Municipal Corporation Gurugram (MCG) on Saturday approved Rs 2.85 crore to upgrade infrastructure, landscaping and recreational facilities in all parks of Sushant Lok-1, Ward 9 and Ward 10. Officials said the work will be finished within three months.
Sustainability is central to the plan. Treated water from sewage treatment plants will be piped to the parks for irrigation, cutting reliance on drinking water and groundwater. About Rs 1.5 crore is set aside for maintaining and improving greenery, mainly in parks in C Block of Sushant Lok-1, which so far depended on groundwater or tankers.
In Ward 9, around Rs 35 lakh will go to modern play equipment for children and Rs 50 lakh to open-air gyms. Seating areas and shaded gazebos for senior citizens and other visitors will cost an estimated Rs 25 lakh.
Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya said lighting and safety will also be improved to make parks more secure and user-friendly. Tendering has begun and work on the ground will start soon. The civic body said the aim is well-kept, accessible and environmentally sustainable public spaces.
