News: Rs 88 Lakh Repair Planned for Daultabad Rail Overbridge-10-02-2026
The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has invited bids for special repair of the road on the Daultabad rail overbridge near Gurugram railway station. It has set aside Rs 88 lakh, and the job must be finished within five months of allotment.
The overbridge links the Dwarka Expressway with Old Railway Road and is among the city’s most congested stretches. Executive engineer Amit Godara said the tender covers the road surface, the stairs connecting the bridge to roads on either side and traffic safety equipment. The work involves laying bitumen, marking lanes and installing fixtures, and will be completed on schedule, he said.
Godara described the repair as part of a wider push to improve the crowded roads around the station, which are being upgraded for smoother vehicle and pedestrian movement.
Officials said a damaged portion of Daultabad road near the Dwarka Expressway is also being repaired, with drains being built alongside. Traffic on the whole stretch should improve once the works are done.
GMDA has additionally proposed elevated roads in Old Gurugram and plans to rebuild Basai road from Bassi Chowk to Old Gurugram and onward to Iffco Chowk to reduce congestion, officials said.
