News: AI Summit Pushes Delhi Five-Star Rates to Lakhs a Night-08-02-2026
New Delhiās five-star hotels are seeing an unprecedented jump in tariffs and near-full occupancy as thousands of delegates prepare to arrive for the India AI Impact Summit 2026, to be held at Bharat Mandapam from February 16 to 20, PTI reported.
An official release this week said more than 35,000 registrations had been received ahead of the event.
Hotel websites and travel portals show standard rooms at leading five-star properties, usually priced at Rs 20,000 to Rs 40,000 a night, now listed at rates approaching lakhs, with some categories above Rs 4 lakh to Rs 5 lakh a night for the peak dates of February 19-20.
At flagship hotels such as The Leela Palace, ITC Maurya and Taj Palace, premium suites and club-level rooms command several lakh rupees a night or are available only with strict minimum-stay conditions. Central Delhi hotels including The Park Hotel, Shangri-La Eros and The Imperial in Connaught Place are nearly sold out for February 18-20 or quoting steep rates. With demand outstripping supply, tourists hoping to book around these dates are likely to struggle.
The summit is billed as the largest of the four global AI summits held so far. More than 100 countries are expected to take part, including 15 to 20 heads of government, over 50 ministers and more than 40 leading global and Indian companies, along with about 500 prominent figures from the AI ecosystem such as innovators, researchers and Chief Technology Officers.
