News: Kherki Daula Toll Shift Delayed as Pachgaon Rejects U-Turn-05-02-2026
The shifting of the Kherki Daula toll plaza to near Pachgaon may be delayed further after villagers rejected the National Highways Authority of India’s (NHAI) offer of a U-turn flyover, officials said on Wednesday.
At a meeting last Tuesday that included the Pachgaon Toll Sangharsh Samiti, locals insisted on a full flyover. NHAI had proposed the U-turn structure to ease movement across the Delhi-Jaipur highway once the plaza moves.
The Union transport ministry cleared the relocation in May last year following demands from Gurugram residents, but people from about 60 villages near Pachgaon objected. After MP Rao Inderjit Singh intervened, NHAI agreed to move the plaza towards Kukdola near Sehrawan, about 13 km from the present site, but security forces objected because of their camps nearby.
NHAI then proposed the U-turn flyover at Pachgaon in January last year. A senior official, requesting anonymity, said it was discussed last month with the minister and it was decided to consult locals; a solution is still being sought.
A samiti member said villagers want the 940 square metre flyover promised earlier, as about 10,000 people cross the highway, and that they do not oppose the toll plaza itself.
