News: No registry for properties in 50 illegal colonies in Haryana-10-06-2023
The department of town and country planning (DTCP) has written to tehsildars of Farrukhnagar and Garhi Harsaru not to register properties in 50 colonies that have been built illegally on agricultural land over the past five years.
District town planner (enforcement) Manish Yadav told TOI he shared the list of the colonies built in violation of the norms with the tehsildars on Friday. He also gave information about the landowners and khasra (village lands)
"Tehsildars have been urged not to register any properties on these lands. Show cause notices, restoration orders and demolition drives have been taken by the department for these illegal colonies. In most of the colonies, FIRs have been registered against the landowners or recommendations have been made to Gurgaon police to register FIR," he said.
The colonies in question are located in Sadhrana, Sultanpur, Iqbalpur, Karpurigram, Garhi Harsaru, Chandu, Khedki Majra, Dhankot, Gopalpur, Wazirpur, Pawala Khusarpur, Fazilpur Badli, Jhanjhraula, Budha, Kaliyawas and Saidpur Mohammadpur.
At the demolition of a colony in Farrukhnagar earlier this year, homebuyers gathered at the location and appealed to the DTP not to raze their houses as they had invested their hard-earned money.
Yadav said homebuyers should enquire with the DTP office before buying a property or land.
According to DTCP officials, the offenders are carving out illegal colonies on agricultural land in violation of the Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas Act, 1975.
Section 7A of the Act states that registration of the sale deed of a plot less than 1 acre can only be done if DTCP has granted a no-objection certificate.
