News: Gurugram: DTCP bans sale & purchase of properties in Sushant Lok-2-25-07-2022
Residents of the licensed colony, however, have opposed the action, saying the town planner should impose restrictions on the developer’s properties and not theirs.
GURUGRAM: The department of town and country planning (DTCP) has banned the sale and purchase of properties in Sushant Lok-2 as the developer — Ansal Buildwell — has failed to renew the project licence after expiry.
Residents of the licensed colony, however, have opposed the action, saying the town planner should impose restrictions on the developer’s properties and not theirs.
“We are bearing the brunt due to the developer’s fault. The department should impose restrictions on the builder’s properties and not of residents,” said Narender Yadav, president, Gurgaon home developers and plot owners’ association.
Yadav also said he along with other association members met deputy commissioner Nishant Yadav on Sunday. The DTCP’s action, he said, is not only causing revenue losses but preventing families from shifting into their homes also. The DC assured the residents that the administration will look into the matter.
Ansal Buildwell, according to a DTCP official, was granted the licence to develop the residential plotted colony — Sushant Lok-2 — over 293 acres. The licence issued for the colony expired between 1995 and 2019, and as per the provisions of DTCP, the licence should be renewed by submitting the application one month before its expiry, he said, adding that as the company has failed to do so, the department has directed it to stop all development work at its sites immediately.
“Also, the colony premises will be sealed, and boards will be installed to inform the public that they should not sell or buy the properties in the colony owing to non-renewal of the licence,” he said.
