The developer completed the project and received occupation certificate from DTCP without having proper electricity connection and handed over the possession to the homebuyers.

GURUGRAM: Hundreds of residents of Ansal Esencia, a residential society in Sector 67, who had been denied connection from DHBVN due to deficient electrical infrastructu re have good news. The residents may get new electricity connection as the developer has agreed to pay bank guarantee to the discom.

The move comes after the residents met the deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala seeking his intervention.

The discom had stopped releasing new connections due in the society’s deficient electrical infrastructure and had announced to issue new connections till the time developers build the deficient infrastructure or deposit bank guarantee. The developer completed the project and received occupation certificate from DTCP without having proper electricity connection and handed over the possession to the homebuyers.

Dharmender Tanwar, president of Ansal Esencia RWA, said they have been taking rounds of the government offices for new electricity connections. “We met the deputy chief minister and he assured us that the issue would be resolved,” said Tanwar.

The developer started giving possession of plots and floors almost a decade ago and around 2,000 families are residing in the township. DHBVN stopped issuing new electricity connections last year.

The infrastructure work in the township is still pending, in spite of the fact that all owners have paid their internal development charges (IDC), external development charges (EDC) and other charges to the developer. The residents also protested at the Ansal office to force the developer to complete the deficit electrical infrastructure.

Ansal Properties & Infrastructure in its letter to DHBVN on June 13 mentioned that they are ready to submit a bank guarantee of Rs 13.10 crore and requested the discom to issue a revised demand. “We will submit a bank guarantee within 15 days of receipt of revised demand from DHBVN,” said a representative of Ansal Properties & Infrastructure.
