News: Gurugram: Demarcate parking lots, govt offices told-09-06-2022
GURUGRAM: The municipal corporation of Gurugram (MCG) on Wednesday, in a bid to streamline parking facilities across the city, directed all government offices, including Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN), Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP), pollution control board, HSIIDC among others, to start marking the parking spaces available in their offices. The government offices have also been told to maintain a record of the parking slots available for two-wheelers and cars.
MCG has also identified 4,500sqm area available at 15 public places where 450 cars and 300 two-wheelers can be parked. “The move comes following the direction of department of urban local bodies minister Kamal Gupta to the civic body. He had asked the officials to ensure that thermoplastic paint marking is done to indicate parking of cars and two-wheelers in the government offices,” said an MCG official privy to the matter.
MCG will also install new boards at parking areas to indicate the facility and check illegal parking. The officials have also been directed to designate parking space in community centres, cremation grounds and parks.
The first phase of markings will cover 15 public places, including Mini Secretariat, Judicial Complex, Vikas Sadan, Civil Hospital, Sector 14 market, Galleria market, old judicial complex, Vyapar Kendra, Sector 22 and 23 market, Sector 46 market, sectors 31, 40, 56, 15, MCG office in Sector 34, 39 and 42.
Other public places to be marked include municipal offices, parks, community centres, government buildings, cinema halls, shopping complexes and both sides of roads where space is available.
