GURUGR AM: Residents of Ansal Esencia, a residential township located in Sector 67 along Golf Course Road (Extension) , have written to chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar demanding its takeover by MCG. They complained that they are unhappy with the lack of civic infrastructure and the developer’s “apathetic attitude” towards addressing their concerns.
Spread across 250 acres, the project was launched in 2011. Possession started in 2014. Residents pointed out that despite paying internal and external development charges to the developer along with property tax to the government, they are being deprived of basic amenities.
The infrastructure in the township, they said, is still pending, with work related to roads, electricity, sewerage, sewage treatment plant and the community centre, among other amenities promised to them, yet to be completed. This is causing a lot of hardship to more than 2,000 residents living in the township, they alleged.
The residents complained that they have been suffering because of the dues yet to be paid by the developer to the government. “The authorities have stopped carrying out new registries of properties in the township, causing difficulties for those who have invested their hard-earned money. DHBVN has also stopped giving new electricity connections,” sa
They alleged that the electricity infrastructure was not built in accordance with the present demand. “We want MCG to take over our colony like other private colonies and to ensure civic services and completion of deficient infrastructure,” said Sanjay Ghai, the RWA general secretary.
A representative of the developer could not be reached for comments despite repeated attempts.
When contacted, deputy commissioner Nishant Yadav said he will look into the matter and appropriate action will be taken as per the rules. “I will get it inspected. Whatever is needed to address their grievances will be done,” Yadav said.
