GURUGRAM: Residents of Mapsko Mount Ville located in Sector 79 on Sunday protested against the developer for failing to provide basic amenities such as water and electricity.
The residents alleged that the society is running on diesel genset since the night of May 12 as the developer has not obtained the domestic connection even after two years of getting the occupation certificate. The current load of 300 kvA, which was taken during the construction of the project, is unable to meet the society's requirement of 2,100 KvA, they said.
Moreover, there has been no water supply in any tower for the last 20 hours, they alleged. This has forced the residents to use the swimming pool water to bathe and use for toilet purposes. “We are experiencing tripping issues at least 50 times every night. This has given us sleepless nights. The builder had applied for a domestic connection 10 days ago after pressure from residents but it will take a minimum of two months to get the connection,” said a resident, Shalini Jain.
The project was launched in 2012 and possession of flats started in December 2020. Around 400 families are currently residing here. “We have been suffering despite paying the heavy maintenance fee. Even the builder is asking to increase further maintenance from existing Rs 4.38 per sqft to Rs 5.43 per sqft else maintenance services will be stopped however half of the services are not working,” said another resident Dhirendra Kumar.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for Mapsko said they have been providing water to the residents through tankers as there is no piped water supply from the government in Sector 78-79.
“As far as the electricity issue is concerned, the management has already assigned and registered a plot to DHBVN to erect their permanent power supply infrastructure and all the required bank guarantee has been released too. Residents are being charged as per government electricity rates,” added the spokesperson.
