GURUGR AM: One of the two district town planners, who was temporarily deputed to the headquarte rs for supervising the survey of illegal colonies across Haryana, has been sent back to Gurgaon with the dual charge of enforcement and planning wings of the district town and country planning department (DTCP).
Before his temporary deputation to the urban local bodies department in Chandigarh, the official, RS Batth, as DTP (enforcement), was overseeing issues related to Chintels Paradiso and NBCC Green View apartments, apart from doing the coordination for the proposed structural audit of five highrises in Gurgaon.
Following Batth’s transfer a week ago, DTP (planning) Sanjay Kumar was given the charge of the enforcement wing. But Kumar soon went on medical leave after suffering an injury, prompting the government to send back Batth to his parent post with the additional charge of the planning wing.
“Considering that the official work of both planning and enforcement shall suffer, it is directed that Batth shall join the office of DTP(E) and he shall also look after the work of DTP(P) till the joining of Kumar,” DTCP director KM Pandurang said in his latest order. As per his order issued last Tuesday, Batth was temporarily deputed to the HQ for helping in the survey of illegal colonies across Haryana. Kumar was directed to look after the work of both the planning and enforcement wings for the time being.
Batth, soon after joining on Tuesday, held a meeting with officials of both the wings and directed them to complete all pending works at the earliest. He also directed the enforcement team to issue notices to developers of illegal colonies and people who carried out unauthorised construction in licensed colonies. When asked about the pending structural audit, the official said that he would soon speak to the IIT-Roorkee team and expedite the process. “The department will provide all assistance required for conducting the audit. The team may visit the site on April 1 and convey the methodology for carrying out the structure audit. They would also let us know about their fees for the same, along with a timeline for its completion,” Batth said.
