GURUGRAM: Residents of ATS Tourmaline in Sector 109 have expressed concerns over continuous water leakage in the basement. They said groundwater has been leaking in the lower basement for the past eight months, causing waterlogging and seepage in adjoining walls and staircases. No corrective measures have been taken so far despite several complaints to the authorities, they alleged. Spread across 10 acres, the project was launched in 2013. Possession of flats started in 2019. Out of 410 flats, around 75 families are currently living in the five towers of the residential complex. AK Bahl, a resident, said, “The builder is using motor pumps to pump out water from the basement, but it isn’t the solution. We have written to district administration, the authorities concerned, the Gurgaon MP and even filed a complaint on the CM Window seeking timely action to no avail.”
Residents said there has been continuous flooding in the lower basement and leakage in the upper basement as well. “The recent incident in Paradiso has caused panic among residents. We fear that constant water accumulation can lead to structural damage to the foundation,” said Sanjay Agarwal, who lives in the society. In addition to this, residents alleged that the builder has failed to provide possession of flats even after getting the occupancy certificate in 2019. “I booked my flat in 2013. They were supposed to complete flats by 2016, but we haven’t got possession of our home till date,” a homebuyer said. Meanwhile, Geetamber Anand, chairman and managing director of ATS Group, said the groundwater levels in areas near Dwarka Expressway are relatively high,. “There is no risk as we built the foundation of the towers properly. Water has been leaking from a borewell that was used during construction. Measures have already been taken to stop this. There has been some delay of possession due to the impact of the pandemic, but it is taking place now.”
