GURUGRAM: A three-member committee has been constituted by MCG to find out how a road was constructed over HSVP plots in Sector 49. The road in question has affected at least eight plots of the HSVP, the market price of which is around Rs 24 crore.
The development authority has already allotted these plots to people who gave up their land for the construction of Southern Peripheral Road (SPR).
“The committee comprising joint commissioner Satish Yadav, superintendent engineer Vivek Gill and assistant town planner Siddarth Sankalp, has been asked by MCG commissioner Mukesh Ahuja to submit its report in four days,” a senior MCG officer told TOI on Wednesday. “Keeping in view the gravity of the issue, the panel will find out any irregularity and also fix accountability.”
The move comes in the wake of HSVP (Gurgaon) administrator Jaspreet Kaur apprising the civic body of the issue after getting a notice from the Punjab and Haryana high court. The court sought an explanation from the development authority after one of the affected plot owners, Yad Ram, sought legal recourse in January, having failed to get physical possession of his land in the past five years.
“The road was constructed on the HSVP land without any consultation and approval from the development authority,” said HSVP’s SDO (survey) Yashwant Yadav.
According to the HSVP official, a total of 16 houses in Fazilpur village had come in the alignment of SPR. To rehabilitate those families, the development authority had allotted them alternative plots in Sector 49 in 2016. But for the past five years, the eight affected families have been running from pillar to post to get possession of their plots.
The road constructed on the eight plots connects Ghasola village to Rosewood City. According to the local residents, the road is a common passage for many, including those residing in the Southend blocks A and B, Rosewood City, Ghasola Village and The Nile, Last year, some residents of the area staged a protest against any move to “remove the road”.
