News: HSVP seeks to recover Rs 372 crore from owners of plots, flats-26-08-2021
GURUGRAM: HSVP has issued more than 600 notices to individual plot owners and some 50 group housing societies of Gurugram for the recovery of pending dues. The authority has to recover around Rs 372 crore from these defaulters as enhancement charges and balance payment for allotment of plots.
The notices have been issued to group housing societies in sectors 43 and 52 and individual plots owners in sectors 27, 28, 42, 43, 51, 52 and 57. HSVP has threatened to take legal action and impose a penalty of 10% of the pending dues on the defaulters if they fail to pay up at the earliest.
Estate officer-2 of HSVP (Gurugram) Jitender Kumar said the notices were issued in the past 12 days. “We urge people to settle their pending dues or else the authorities will impose a penalty of 10%. Once a penalty is imposed, it cannot be waived off. We will also initiate legal action,” he said.
Earlier HSVP had issued notices to around 35 societies in sectors 54, 55 and 56 for the recovery of the enhancement amount. The authority has also stopped the sale and purchase of properties in these societies till the pending dues are cleared.
HSVP acquired 631 acres in Gurugram in 1990 at rates ranging between Rs 50,000 and Rs 1,25,000 an acre. In 1996, the district court increased the land compensation, which was later challenged in the Punjab and Haryana high court. In 2010, the Supreme Court revised the amount to Rs 8.23 lakh per acre.
Residents said they had received the notices for the enhancement fee in February 2016, with a delayed period interest at 15% for 6,756 days with effect from July 1997, for no fault of theirs.
