Gurgaon: Chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar said on Monday that every tehsil would now use Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) for demarcation and alignment of land. Khattar made the announcement while presiding over a monthly meeting to hear out grievances of residents. As many as 13 complaints were tabled at the meeting, of which 11 were addressed on the spot. As of now, the demarcation of plots and their alignment is conducted by authorised private surveyors against a prescribed fee. Since this is done manually, the survey often takes time and delays projects.
Officials said many applications had been piling up at the tehsil offices and the DGPS would only fast-track the process of demarcating plots. The matter was taken up while discussing a complaint filed by a resident of Mohammad Heri village, who alleged that the construction of drains in his area had been delayed by over a year as land was yet to be demarcated.

The CM directed PWD officials to complete the drainage work within a month after conducting the demarcation of land. He also asked the local tehsildar to complete measuring a panchayati land in Bhokarka village in 15 days.

Khattar also heard a plea about the construction of a 145m-long road by residents of NBCC Green View in Sector 37D. The CM instructed deputy commissioner Yash Garg to find a solution to the problem as the road’s construction has been pending for several years due to non-acquisition of land.

The issue of waterlogging in Dahar along the Najafgarh drain was also raised at the meeting. The flooding has been affecting agricultural land in many villages, and Khattar said that a plan was being worked out to resolve the matter.

“The divisional commissioner of Gurgaon had reviewed the matter and submitted a report to the wetland authority. After that, technical and financial sub-committees were formed under the authority. To solve the problem of waterlogging, we are considering a lake in the slope area and a bund around it. Flooding has been affecting around 5,000 acres of agricultural land there,” Khattar said.

On a complaint by the residents of M3M Woodshire over sewage finding its way into a panchayati plot, Khattar directed GMDA officials to connect the drain of Dharampur village with an STP before the waste water is let out into the Najafgarh drain.

MCG chief Mukesh Ahuja, meanwhile, was asked to conduct a special survey for the restoration of the Guru Dronacharya pond and remove the encroachments around it and build a boundary wall.
