News: Constructed without nod, MCG razes 3 buildings-06-08-2021
Gurgaon: The enforcement team of Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) on Thursday demolished three unauthorised residential buildings in Model Town and Shivaji Nagar areas.
According to the MCG officials, the building plans of these structures were not approved by the civic body.
“A team led by assistant engineer Hitesh Dahiya carried out the demolition drive in zone-1. We had received the information that the construction of these buildings was underway even though their building plan was not approved by the civic body,” said MCG spokesperson SS Rohilla.
The enforcement teams of all MCG zones have been conducting demolition drives in their respective areas to reclaim the government land.
MCG on Wednesday had also demolished an illegal sewage treatment plant (STP) constructed on 200 sq yards of its land and a parking lot spread over 1,300 sq yards.
The corporation reclaimed 1,500 sq yards of the government land in Sector 48 by demolishing these structures built by a private developer.
In order to ensure better utilisation of the government land, MCG commissioner Mukesh Kumar Ahuja has directed the joint commissioners and enforcement teams of each zone to conduct demolition drives at the MCG lands encroached upon in the city.
