Gurgaon: More than 2,000 families living in Emerald Hills in Sector 65 are still waiting to get a proper road connectivity even five years after taking possession of their homes.
The residents alleged three 24-metre-wide access roads connecting their society were to be built as per the layout plan, but they are still deprived of proper connectivity to the society. They also claimed the lack of a proper road is putting their safety at risk.
In the absence of the road connectivity, the residents were compelled to use the village road but the portion of that stretch had caved in due to the heavy downpour and no repair has been done since the past 12 days, they alleged.

Rakesh Kaushik, president, Emerald Hills Plot Owners Association (EHPOA), said, “The revenue road which we were using had caved in 12 days ago, while another road passing in front of M3M 65th Avenue has an ongoing construction, as a result sometimes the road gets blocked with the construction material.”

According to residents, the project was launched in 2009 and the possession of flats was started in 2016. They have demanded an immediate repair work to be started to make the village road accessible.

Poonam Gupta, vice-president of EHPOA, said, “For the last five years, we have been suffering with no approach road to Golf Course Extension Road. We feel cheated as despite paying the EDC and IDC to the developer there is no dedicated road to our society. Several complaints have been made to authorities concerned and the developer but no relief is provided to us.”

Meanwhile, the representative of the developer could not be reached for the comments. When asked about the matter, DTP (enforcement) RS Bhatth said, “I have received the representation from the residents and I will be conducting a site inspection on Monday to see how we can resolve the matter. The responsibility lies with the builder for the construction of a 24-metre-wide road which falls under their license area, whereas the area which is not a part of the license then the individual landowner may or may not offer their land under the provision of Transfer of Development Rights (TDR) policy.”
