News: New sector work divided to avoid jurisdiction tangle-28-07-2021
Gurgaon: After months of confusion over the jurisdiction of development work in new sectors, the roles of Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) and the development authorities were divided on Tuesday at a meeting conducted by DS Desi, chief principal secretary to the CM, at PWD guest house in the city. HSVP will continue with the ongoing projects and upon completion hand over those to the respective development authority, while Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authourity (GMDA) and Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority (FMDA) will take up the projects which have not been started yet. The GMDA will also develop sewerage and drainage system.
The meeting was attended by principal secretary to town and country planning AK Singh, director town and country planning K Pandurang, chief administrator of HSVP Ajit Balaji Joshi, CEO GMDA Sudhir Rajpal, administrator HSVP (Gurgaon) Jitender Yadav and others.
Litigations challenging land acquisition, encroachments and pending litigations were identified as major bottlenecks for delay in development of civic infrastructure in new sectors of Gurgaon and Faridabad. “Now, master roads and a master water supply line would be developed by development authority in new sectors in Gurgaon and Faridabad. Ongoing sewerage and drainage work will be completed by HSVP,” an official said.
As per the understanding, construction of master roads and master water supply line in sectors 58 to 115 in Gurgaon would be transferred to GMDA by HSVP. Sewerage and drainage works have been started by HSVP in most of the sectors, so HSVP will complete them before handing over to GMDA. “The objective was to bring clarity on division of works and expedite the development of civic infrastructure in new sectors of Gurgaon and Faridabad,” said a senior government official.
The statement released by the government said a new sewerage treatment plant would be developed in Sector 107. For this GMDA will prepare a proposal.
