News: Erratic water and power supply at Sector 84 market, say traders-15-06-2021
Gurgaon: Traders who bought shops at Pivotal Deevan’s commercial complex in Sector 84 have expressed concerns over the lack of basic amenities in the newly-built market area. On Monday, a group of buyers held a meeting with senior town planner Sanjeev Mann and raised some of the issues.
The complex, Down Street, was launched in 2015 and buyers were given possession from 2020. But according to the buyers, the place lacks basic facilities like water supply, proper washrooms, power backup and fire safety equipment. There are around 100 shops in the complex and 35-40 of them are open.
Rahul Bansal, who has a financial consultancy office in the complex, said: “We have to arrange for water. Washrooms are in a pathetic state. We have outages for five-six hours almost daily.” In February, the buyers had filed a complaint through the CM window. But there has been no progress, they said.
Puran Singh, a buyer, said: “The place is in a poor state even though we have paid maintenance fees in advance. They (builders) are collecting Rs 8 per day as fixed electricity charge in addition to power consumption fee.” A representative of Pivotal Infrastructure Private Limited said two water coolers are operational and the place is cleaned twice a day.
“There is no provision for individual water supply and there is no mention in the builder-buyer contract about power backup in a shop. Four washrooms are functional,” said Rajpal Sharma, facility manager, Pivotal Deevan. Senior town planner Mann said: “I have directed officials to conduct an inspection and submit a report. Builders have been asked to submit a request for constructing washrooms.”
