News: Basai ROB Work On Dwarka Expressway On Fast Track-08.01.2017
Basai RoB work on Dwarka expressway on fast track
Construction work on the much-delayed railway-over-bridge (RoB) at Basai on Dwarka expressway is on fast track and is likely to be completed in next two months.
The RoB, which is coming up at the junction of sectors 100 and 37-D at Basai village will fill a crucial connectivity gap on the 18-km-long Dwarka expressway. Once completed, the bridge is said to improve the connectivity of new sectors.
"Construction work on RoB is in progress. One lane is expected to be ready by January end, while the other will be ready by February," Huda administrator Yashpal Yadav said , adding that construction of RoB is crucial for completion of Northern Peripheral Road (NPR).
In September 2015, the railway had allotted the work order to a private firm for constructin of a portion of RoB passing over the railway track. Of the 1,200m long RoB, railway constructed 128m of the stretch passing over the railway track, while the rest was built by Huda. The project will cost around Rs 153 crore.
"We are hopeful of completing the RoB on time," said the Huda official.
Huda will also connect the expressway with Pataudi and Basai roads as well as all the nearby sectors in next few months.
On Wednesday, over 200 unauthorised structures were demolished to clear the way for the master roads of sectors 81-86.
Excited with the development, Rahul Singla, director, MAPSKO Group, said, "The move has come as a relief for residents. The demolition of the encroachments and completion of RoB will lead to construction of a proper road."
